The Greatest Story Ever Told – Week 8

Resource Information

These resources will be used Mar 15

During this time while we are redirecting services to Church Online, we also want to give you the tools and support to continue to lead your kids into a relationship with Jesus. We know that you spend more time with your kids than we get to on a weekend, so we want to always provide tools to lead your child daily to life in Christ. Sometimes it hard to know where to start, so here’s some handle bars to help you and your kids spend some time with God together this weekend.

You can start with some lively living room family worship! Your elementary students have been worshiping God through singing and motions with the songs “Wake” – “Every Beat” – “Good, Good Father”.
Your preschool kiddos are learning scriptures and singing with the Hillsong Big Word song “Revelation 22:12-13 and praising to “You Set Me Free”. We want kids to know that praising God is fun and delightful. God loves to see them worship! (Click the link at the bottom)

We are in our 8th week of “The Greatest Story Ever Told”. Kids have been learning about God’s story and how we have a part to play in God’s story. This week’s Main Point: The Great God Adventure is to be Shared!

Matthew 28:18-20 “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Bible Verse for this week: “Look! I am coming soon! I bring my rewards with me. I will reward each person for what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the First and the Last. I am the Beginning and the End.” – Revelation 22:12-13

Today you can introduce them to the story of Paul with the RBKids Online Parent Resources video. (Click Link at bottom) Here are some follow up questions after watching the Bible Story Video:

– Who did we learn about in today’s lesson?

We learned about the Apostle Paul as he shared the gospel and encouraged Christians as The Church around the world was getting started.

– In what ways was Paul’s life an adventure?
Paul dedicated his life to sharing the gospel which saw him embark on adventures to many countries. He faced danger, saw miracles, lived life on the run, was in prison, shipwrecked, saw people healed and God used him to bring many people to follow Jesus and be saved.

– Who do we share our God adventure life with?
We share our God adventure lives with one another, with our church family and other Christians who share this God adventure right alongside us. We can share one another’s trouble, care, support, pray, worship and celebrate together.

– As a family, how can we share Christ with others?
We can invite a family over for dinner to get to know them and build a relationship with them. We can go live sent in our community together. (Local HOPE outreach in our communities) We can tell someone who is having a hard day that Jesus loves them. We can be more like Christ around our friends, at our sporting events, at our schools, at our jobs; choosing joy in stressful times, choosing love in moments where it would be easier to walk away, choosing to have HOPE in Christ and not be blown about by the storms of life. THEN when people ask why we are different we can point them to Jesus.

End your family Worship/Bible Story time praying for one another. Pray for each other, model this first for your kids. Then encourage your kids to pray out loud. It doesn’t have to be long, it’s important to let them know that praying is just talking to God. It does not have to be fancy, have big words, or be long; it is just talking to God like you talk to your best friend.
