Main Point: I can pray to Jesus anytime, anywhere, and about anything!

Bible Basis: Peter and the Prison Break (Acts 12:1–19)

Key Verse: “Never stop praying.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Small Group Discussion Questions:

  • Why do you think Peter’s friends were surprised to see him knocking on the door? (Peter was in a pretty tricky situation being locked up in prison. After Peter’s friends prayed, God sent an angel to break Peter out of prison! Peter’s friends might have been surprised that God came through in the way that he did!)
  • How do you think the believers felt about God when they realized Peter had escaped? (They probably felt overjoyed and grateful! They might have worshipped or thanked God for what he had done.)
  • Do you ever pray to Jesus? Where do you pray? What do you pray about? (Remind your children that they can pray to God anytime, anywhere, and about anything! 1 John 5:14 says, “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.”)
  • If you could talk to Jesus right now, what would you say to Him? (Help your kids understand that praying is the way we talk to God. Take a few minutes to pray as a family. Encourage your kids to pray aloud and talk to God about what’s on their heart.)
